Using "Like" vs. "Equals"
Like
The "like" selection will return all persons whose name matches any of the characters you input in the first or last name field.
Ex. Typing Smi in the last name field would return records for:
Smiley, Fred
Smith, Jane
Smith, John
Smithson, Sara
Equal to
The "equals" selection will return all persons whose name exactly matches all of the characters you input in the first or last name field.
Ex. Typing Smith in the last name field would return records for:
Smith, Jane
Smith, John

Important NoteKeep in mind that the first name field also searches against the middle name and nickname fields. |
Specialization Keyword Search
Capitalization |
The specialization keyword search is not case sensitive.
Ex. Typing CATTLE, cattle, or Cattle will all return the same information.

AND |
AND may be used to find all specializations where two or more conditions are met.
Ex. Typing cattle AND ants AND fertilizer will all return only the person(s) whose specialization contains all of those criteria.

OR |
OR may be used to find specializations that meet one of several criteria.
Ex. Typing cattle OR ants OR fertilizer will return all specializations containing any of those criteria searched on.

Department/Unit/Program Search
This search uses a wildcard search similar to the find program of most computers. Essentially it will take whatever you enter and find Departments/Units/Programs containing your input within their name.
Ex. If you type in Beaumont and press submit the search will return the following Departments/Units/Programs:
Texas A&M University AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Beaumont, USDA-ARS (Beaumont).

County Program Search
This search uses a wildcard search similar to the find program of most computers. Essentially, it will take whatever you enter and find programs located in those counties which begin with your input.
Ex. If you type in CA and press submit the search will return programs found in the following counties:
Caldwell, Calhoun, Callahan, Cameron, Camp, Carson, Cass, Castro
Submitting just C would find the above as well as counties such as Chambers,
Cherokee,
Childress,
Clay etc., etc.
